By a Man's Face Shall You Know Him
Synopsis
While treating a severely injured patient, Dr. Amamiya is startled to recognize the man’s face. Once comrades in combat, they later found themselves on warring sides when a South Korean gang threatened to take over a Japanese market owned by Amamiya. The good doctor is faced with a moral dilemma.
Editorial
Blending dynamite action with poetic introspection, Tai Kato’s torrid gangster drama examines the fragile bonds of brotherhood and community, tragically unraveled by greed. A rare depiction of the interethnic tension that brews in postwar Japan, this is a bold political reckoning doused in blood.
