Synopsis

London, January 10, 2016. Cornish filmmaker Mark Jenkin wakes in the English capital to hear that music legend David Bowie has died. Traversing its streets in the wake of a seismic shock to British pop culture, Jenkin reflects on his memories of the city in a moment of mourning.

Editorial

The death of a national icon raises the ghosts of the past in this stream-of-consciousness trip through the back alleys of memory and culture. Stitching together reels of Super 8 shot over multiple decades, this acid house–soundtracked cine-memoir revives the lost futures of a disappeared now.
