Synopsis
Winnifred is afflicted with tuberculosis, and her younger sister Trixie is distraught. When the doctor tells Trixie that her older sister will die when autumn’s last leaf falls, she takes his words to heart and tries to save her by tying fallen leaves back onto trees with string.

As history currently has it, Alice-Guy Blaché was the first woman ever to direct a film. She casts an affectionate eye on the magical thinking of children in this autumnal silent short, a touching tale of sisterly devotion in which a little girl tries innocently to undo the passage of time.
