Editorial
Tradition and youth culture hilariously collide in Masayuki Suo’s auspicious break into popular filmmaking, a blueprint for his later portraits of social misfits. Juxtaposing slapstick mishaps with ascetic decorum, guitar riffs with mantras, Fancy Dance reaches for enlightenment through pure chaos.
