Girl in the Window
Synopsis
After an accident in a Dutch coal mine, Italian workers Vincenzo and Federico travel to Amsterdam. In the red-light district, they spend the weekend with two sex workers, Else and Cori. What begins as a fleeting escape turns into entanglements that leave Vincenzo reconsidering his return home.
Editorial
Cowritten by Pasolini and starring Lino Ventura, Luciano Emmer’s tender drama portrays the lives of miners and sex workers with unparalleled empathy. Moving between blackened coal tunnels and bawdy bars, this neorealist gem offers a humanist vision of class solidarity under capitalist exploitation.
