Synopsis
After scoring a spot on a national talent competition, sixteen-year-old Lea is asked by the television crew about who she is and what makes her special. Stumped by these simple questions, she begins a search for an identity within and beyond her family’s hotel in the forests of eastern Germany.
Editorial
Drawn from her childhood memories of East Germany, Eva Trobisch’s sprawling drama bears witness to the collective loss that lingers after reunification. An intricate mosaic of a family divided by generational differences, Home Stories probes the enduring tension between our real and invented selves.
