Synopsis
In Brazil, four years after the 1964 coup d’état, civil rights were suspended, and torture became a systematic practice. Eight women who were political prisoners during the dictatorship are interviewed—their stories framed by the fantasies and imaginings of an anonymous character.

Before she became an award-winning filmmaker, Lúcia Murat agitated against the repressive regime in Brazil throughout the 1960s and the 1970s. Charged with that personal experience of military violence, this hybrid film is testament not only to trauma, but also to collective resistance and survival.
