Synopsis
On a cold winter day, Nena’s family reunites in their house in front of the sea to celebrate her birthday. Everybody in the family is there—including Paco, Alma’s peacock, who falls in love with a little painted dove. This impossible love will force the whole family to reckon with their feelings.

With a rare recent turn from French New Wave actor Dominique Sanda, Laura Bispuri’s film feels around for the knots and splinters in a family tree with warmth and intuition. Embellishing a familiar scenario, the titular bird feathers fractious scenes with iridescent colors and mysterious symbolism.
