Synopsis

Nestor, a young Paris policeman, falls for Irma, a streetwise sex worker. To keep her off the streets, he invents a wealthy alter ego, Lord X, who becomes her only client. The ruse unravels when Irma confesses she loves Lord X—not Nestor.

Editorial

Billy Wilder scored one of his biggest hits—and Shirley MacLaine an Oscar® nomination—with this colorfully designed crowd-pleaser adapted from a French musical. Costarring Jack Lemmon and written by the legendary I. A. L. Diamond, Irma La Douce is an epically scaled satire on the true price of love.
