No Hard Feelings
Synopsis
While completing community service at a refugee shelter, hard-partying Irani-German Parvis befriends Irani refugees Banafshe and her brother Amon, who reconnect him to his culture of origin. But as Parvis and Amon grow closer, the unsparing asylum-application process threatens to separate them all.
Editorial
Washed romantic by violet sunsets and the pallor of bedrooms at dawn, Faraz Shariat’s sensual first feature explores questions of identity and citizenship. The sweetness of healing intimacies and soft, summery photography offer hope amid bureaucratic hypocrisies in this spirited, searching film.
