Synopsis
Brooding, alienated Sergio works as a trash collector in Lisbon. At night, he roams the city streets seeking rough, anonymous sex with other men. One night Sergio becomes fascinated with the owner of a sleek motorcycle—a man who seems to be the embodiment of his tormented fantasies.

João Pedro Rodrigues emerged in Portuguese cinema as a bold, idiosyncratic and unorthodox queer auteur. O Fantasma (“The Ghost”) is his first feature-length fiction film, a disquieting, fragmented story exploring nocturnal and sexual escapades set in the dark and surreal streets of Lisbon.
