Synopsis
In Italy’s Alfina Plateau, hazelnut monoculture is destroying the local landscape. To pay homage to the farmers resisting change, JR and Alice Rohrwacher staged a funeral for peasant agriculture where workers carried enormous silhouettes of agriculturalists made by JR on their shoulders.

Banding together to honor an endangered pastoral, JR and Alice Rohrwacher each lend some signature sparkle to a people’s lament for their land and livelihood.
