Synopsis

Mija, 60, starts to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease when she enrolls in a poetry class, despite the challenges of learning new words. However, her world is turned upside down when her grandson is discovered to be involved in a monstrous crime. Only her poetry allows her to defy the weight of shame.

Editorial

Winner of Best Screenplay at Cannes, this powerful yet gentle drama about old age from South Korean master Lee Chang-dong (Burning) is a highlight of contemporary world cinema. A tale of beauty versus brutality, in which Yoon Jeong-hee delivers a moving performance of remarkable beauty.
