Synopsis
Ewa and her sister sail to New York from Poland in search of the American dream. Doctors at Ellis Island discover that Magda is ill, and the two women are separated. On the mean streets of Manhattan, Ewa quickly falls prey to Bruno, a charming but wicked man who forces her into prostitution.
