Synopsis
Accident-prone and forgetful, George Newman gets fired from another job. When his uncle hires him to manage Channel 62—a local TV station on the brink of bankruptcy—George swaps out the reruns for a raft of weird and wonderful live shows, and, against the odds, turns the station’s fortunes around.
Editorial
The overactive imagination of “Weird Al” Yankovic’s eccentric protagonist turns up the color saturation on this slapstick comedy about hyper-local TV. Absurd daydream sequences and commercials for businesses with ludicrous names lend a prismatic channel-hopping aesthetic to this zany ensemble film.
