Un air de famille
1996
Synopsis
Every week, the Ménard family gathers at the café run by Henri. Tonight is a special occasion—it’s Henri’s sister-in-law’s birthday—but an unexpected event disrupts the family’s routine: Arlette, Henri’s wife, has left for the week “to think things over,” unsettling everyone around her.
Editorial
Adapting their stage play for the screen, winning duo Agnès Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri also made unforgettable appearances in Cédric Klapisch’s prickly comedy, a critical and box-office hit. In this witty war of words, set almost entirely in a family bistro, every insult cuts deeper than a knife.
