Synopsis
Brazil, the eighteeenth century. Xica da Silva, an African slave, is the mistress of João Fernandes de Oliveira, who held the monopoly on diamond mining in the Minas Gerais region. Xica uses her seductive charms to win her freedom and rises into the upper echelons of high society.
